Tree falls onto truck in downtown Orlando

A truck driver got quite the surprise as he was driving in downtown Orlando Tuesday morning.

The driver said a tree fell onto his box truck as he was driving by on Orange Avenue and Pine Street. The tree caused significant damage to the truck, slicing open the top of the truck.

Police on the scene said the tree could have become weakened due to the recent rain. But they said they’re not exactly sure why it fell.

One lane of Orange Avenue was temporarily closed as crews lifted the tree off the truck.

No one was hurt.
