Firefighters in Volusia County are scrambling to put out multiple brush fires started by lightning strikes.

A spokesman with the Daytona Beach Fire department told News 13 firefighters are battling as many as six brush fires in Volusia County. One of which is on LPGA Boulevard near the Vince Carter restaurant just off of I-95.

A second one started about a hundred yards from that one north of LPGA on Williamson Boulevard near the Love Health Store.

Firefighters said there is another brush fire in Ormond Beach on US-1, a brush fire in Holly Hill and several more in the southern part of Volusia County.

Florida Fire Service tractors are being called in to reach the hard-to-get brush fires in the county.
