A school secretary was arrested Monday after detectives said she had engaged in a sexual relationship with a student at the school.

Trina Rocker, 41, is facing five counts of unlawful sex with a minor.

Rocker, who told detectives she was the secretary for Landmark Christian High School in Haines City, was reportedly involved in the relationship with a 17-year-old male student, investigators said.

The relationship started in November 2011 and ended in May 2012, detectives said.

According to the arrest affidavit, Rocker and the student had sex five times during those six months.

Investigators say the incidents happened in Rocker's car off school property and once on a senior trip to Washington D.C., where Rocker was serving as a chaperone.

The student has graduated from the school and has not had any sexual contact with Rocker since then, detectives said.

Detectives said the student's parents discovered the relationship and confronted him about it and that he admitted the sexual encounters occurred while he was a student at the school.

Detectives said when Rocker was confronted with the allegations by the victim's father over the phone she said she wanted to "plea for her life."

Landmark Baptist Church Pastor Steven Carter said when detectives showed up to talk to Rocker at the school, he was shocked.

"As she spoke to the detectives they brought our principal in, and in front of our principal she said, 'Tell the administration that I'm resigning my position,'" he said.

Carter said Rocker, who has also served as the school’s nurse, has been with the school for three years.

"This does go against everything we stand for,” he said. “We're trying to educate young folks and also see good moral character develop in them. (We’re) concerned for all families involved of course and we are just, just taken aback, really."

Carter said they're cooperating with the sheriff's office and the Department of Children and Families in their investigations.

School officials say they’re sending emails out through their parent notification system to let parents know about the allegations.

Rocker was booked into the Polk County Jail on no bond.
