A Winter Haven man is facing charges after police said he fired several gunshots at an occupied house Monday afternoon.

Shaquille Markus King, 19, is facing charges in connection with the incident, which happened at 4:25 p.m. in the area of Second Street SE.

According to Winter Haven police, someone called 911 to report hearing three or four separate gunshots near his home. Police interviewed witnesses in the area and determined that the suspect had fired several shots at the house.

No one was injured in the shooting. Police said two of the gunshots hit exterior walls, while two more hit a window and went inside the house.

Police said the occupants of the home identified King as the shooter. Three of the people were sitting outside of the house, while seven others were inside the home. Two children were among those inside the house.

King was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Polk County Jail. He is facing three counts of attempted first-degree murder, seven counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling and one count of discharging a firearm from a vehicle.
