Keep Polk County Beautiful is holding a hazardous waste disposal event this Saturday.

According to our partners at the Ledger, the event will be held at Bartow High School from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Residents can turn in household hazardous wastes, including solvents, insecticides, paint and rechargeable batteries, and electronic devices, including computers, computer monitors and televisions.

No more than five electronic devices per household will be accepted, nor will small appliances like microwaves or air conditioners.

People can also bring up to 10 standard-size tires that are either on or off the rims.

No commercial waste will be accepted, but information will be available for business owners on the proper way to handle hazardous wastes.
