A 16-year-old student at Seminole High suffered minor injuries after being struck by a truck Friday morning near campus.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 86th Avenue North near 131st Street North, involving the female student and a red Ford pick-up truck.

Troopers said a 49-year-old man driving the truck southbound on 131st Street turned east onto 86th Avenue, striking the girl. Troopers said the student was in the crosswalk under a red "do not walk" pedestrian signal.

The girl was taken to All Children's Hospital.

The eastbound lanes of 86th Ave. were blocked for about an hour after the crash.
