Tuesday morning, the Citrus County Sheriff's Office assisted the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms with serving search warrants.

One at a Citrus Springs home on North Saponaria Drive and at two Inverness businesses, Ridin' Dirty Motorsports and Cool-Aid Heating and Air Conditioning Corp, all focusing on the owner, Michael Paul Watkins. He's being investigated for unlawful possession of firearms and explosives.

Frank Dipiazza said his neighbor is a friendly guy and they really only talk about the weather. Other neighbors are a little upset about a shelter or bunker that's being built behind Watkins’ home. Dipiazza said Watkins is a self-proclaimed doomsday prepper.

"I joked about it with my wife. I said, well at least if the end of days come we know where to go,” laughs Dipiazza, “right down the street."

Watkins was arrested and will be booked on possession of destructive devices. Federal agents have not released any more information on the case.
