A Plant City High School student is behind bars facing charges of possessing and making child pornography.

Jared Henry, 16, was arrested on 93 counts of possession of child pornography, nine counts of promotion of a sexual performance by a child, and four counts of lewd and lascivious molestation.

FDLE officials said they were tipped off by a Canadian police agency regarding a computer user in Plant City sharing images of child pornography online.

Parents at Plant City High School where he attends are shocked.

“It’s pretty disgusting and pretty sad that it’s a 16-year-old high school student doing this,” said parent Julie Degarmo. “Where did he learn it?”

Melissa Minck’s daughter also attends the school and said the arrest is scary.

“That’s a little bit more creepy," Minck said. "I knew that when I first heard the story that he was in possession of it, but I did not realize that he was also on the level of making it too."

After searching the teen’s Plant City home, FDLE officials said they located numerous images of child pornography. Agents determined during the investigation that Henry molested a child in the images to produce the child pornography in his possession.

Henry is behind bars at the Hillsborough County Jail with a bail of more than $802,000. Henry is being charged as an adult.

FDLE Investigators said there could be more victims. They’re asking anyone with any information to contact their FDLE Tampa Bay Regional Operations Center at (800) 226-1140.
