There may soon be a new way to enjoy nature in Pasco County.

Pasco County’s Metropolitan Planning Organization has plans for a multi-use trail in southwestern Pasco County.

The MPO is studying what would be the best route for the Anclote Coastal Trail, a proposed bicycle and pedestrian trail linking the Pinellas Trail extension in Tarpon Springs with Pasco County’s Anclote River Park, Anclote Gulf Park, and Key Vista Nature Park.

The connection would be the first connecting trails from Pasco to Pinellas. It would allow visitors to move between parks without having to drive.

A public workshop has been scheduled for Wednesday in which MPO staff and consultant will be on hand to review potential alignments, discuss opportunities and constraints, and answer questions.

The workshop will be held at the Anclote High School media center at 5:30 p.m.
