Some Lakeland Electric customers owe extra money because of a mistake.
According to our partners at the Ledger, the utility under-billed 2,113 customers. The mistake affects people in the Lake Miriam area, who get sewer services through Polk County.
The utility didn't add in a base fee increase almost a year ago.
The Ledger reports that no customer will owe more than $20.
