One person suffered critical injuries in a crash involving a pickup truck and a school bus Thursday morning in Tampa.

According to Tampa police, none of the four children on the bus, headed to Carrollwood Elementary School, were injured.

Police said a GMC Sonoma truck was traveling north on Central Avenue at 7 a.m. when the driver of the truck ran the red light at Broad Street and drove into the side of the school bus.

The driver of the truck had to be extricated and was taken to St. Joseph's hospital in critical condition. Additional emergency personnel were called to the scene to evaluate the children.
