Pinellas Park police say a man wanted for questioning in the rape of a 15-year-old girl was arrested after he approached a TV news crew covering the story Thursday morning.

According to police, a male suspect in a tan Ford F150 picked up the girl behind the Racin’ Gas station at 4801 Park Boulevard on Oct. 11 at 2 p.m.

Officers said the two drove throughout Pinellas Park before he forced her to commit a sex act. That occurred in a wooded area near Robert's Mobile Home Park at 3390 Gandy Blvd.

On Thursday morning, a TV news crew covering the story at the gas station was approached by a man who said he was the person police were looking for in the case.

Police said he denied having sex with the victim and denied that he was armed. He was taken into custody following his interaction with the TV crew.

The suspect was identified as 37-year-old Robin Aragon, 37, of St. Petersburg.

He will be transferred to the Pinellas County Jail on the charges of armed sexual battery and interference with child custody.
