Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority board members are standing by their chief executive.

According to partner newspaper the Tampa Bay Times, PSTA critics and Greenlight Pinellas opponents are demanding Brad Miller step down.

Foes claim federal grant money from the Department of Homeland Security was deliberately misused while the PSTA created an awareness campaign promoting safety and security on the bus system.

The PSTA later returned $354,000 after the Department of Homeland Security decided the promotional materials did not properly promote the bus system's safety.

But the board members agreed - there is no proof that Miller intentionally misused the money.
