Two fatal crashes along Interstate 75 disrupted morning traffic on Friday in Hillsborough County.

The first crash, on I-75 at Gibsonton Drive, involved a Honda Civic and a pedestrian.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, The Civic was traveling southbound on I-75 at 4 a.m. when a woman walking on the interstate crossed into the path of the vehicle.

The woman, later identified as 43-year-old Juana Medellin of Wimauma, was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Traffic was slowed throughout the morning at Gibsonton Drive.

Further north, a person was killed in a crash on Fowler Avenue at the I-75 on ramp.

The Florida Highway Patrol closed Fowler, along with the ramp, after the crash, which happened just after 6 a.m.

Officials have not relased the details of the Fowler crash as of yet.
