The warm temperatures of the last few days are coming to an end as October turns to November.

Currently, a cold front is moving through the Deep South and toward Florida.  The front should arrive tomorrow with a chance of a few showers.  Rain will be brief if it rains at all.  We are at about two weeks without rain now.

The chilly air won’t arrive directly behind the front.  Instead, we will gradually get cooler through Friday.  Skies should clear as the dry air settles in with a north winds on Friday.  Weather looks good for Halloween but it will be cooler by evening.

The really chilly air will arrive on Saturday.  This dry and cold airmass will keep highs only in the 60s all day even with sunshine.  By Saturday Night, the winds will drop and temperatures should be the coldest we’ve seen since last spring.

Computer models show possible 30s in our Northern Counties on Sunday morning with light winds and very dry air.  Citrus and Hernando Counties are most likely to have some upper 30s.  No freezing temperatures are expected, but after the recent warm weather it will be a shock.  The rest of the area will drop into the 40s except normally warmer locations right along the coast with lows near 50.

Normal highs are in the lower 80s in early November with normal lows (based on a 30 year average) in the lower 60s.  The forecast lows are not near the records for Tampa which are in the upper 30s to near 40 for the first few days of November.

We will continue to refine the forecast for the next few days so check in again for Weather on the Nines for updates.
