Citrus County veterans who want a new furry best friend can get one at a discount.
Citrus County Animal Services and the Citrus County Foundation for Animal Protection are partnering up to thank veterans while finding homes for animals.
Any veteran with proof of military service (including military ID, VA ID or DD214) can adopt a shelter dog or cat for half price.
The shelter will be closed on Veteran's Day, but veterans can pick out a new animal the week of Nov. 8 through Nov. 15.
