Frank Fuss from St. Pete Beach is the father of a Florida State University senior. He was grateful to hear his daughter was not in the Stozier Library when Myron May opened fire.

"She's my firstborn,” said Fuss. "I'm just thankful that she's okay."

Twenty-one-year-old Savannah Fuss sent her parents a text overnight to let them know she was safe.

"Hey Daddy, there was a school shooting in the library today. I just wanted to let you know I'm okay," read the message.

Savannah said she had been practically living in the library studying for finals because her laptop is broken.

The FSU senior had been there the night before and planned to go back late after work, but her friend suggested they stay in for the night. Savannah would have arrived shortly before May shot three students.

"The scariest thought would have been that she would have been one of the victims,” said Fuss.

The father fears the impact the shooting will have on the students who were in that library.
