As we enter into Thanksgiving Week, many folks will be hitting the roads and the skies to visit friends and family. Of course, the big question is, will the weather slow you down? Generally speaking ... no.

There will be some weather hiccups and perhaps one very close call this week, but overall, fairly quiet weather will be around the country as we get to midweek when travel really picks up.

Now, for Monday and Tuesday, early travelers will experience some rain and thunderstorms in the Southeast United States, including here in Florida. That storm system will move up the East Coast and into the Northeast by Wednesday night.

So, if your travel plans get you there before nightfall you should be OK. If that low stays closer to the coast, then there may be some issues for Northeast and New England travelers with coastal rain and inland snow for Wednesday night.

Other than that, not much will be happening this week to prevent you from making it to Grandma's house.

Just be sure to pack some winter weather clothes as some colder air will be coming back into much of the nation. Fortunately, Arctic air will be held back north of the border with Canada, at least for now.

Even in your return plans, major storm systems will hold off until early Monday (after the Thanksgiving weekend).

So, stay safe, eat lots, and enjoy your holiday!
