Hernando County commissioners are seeking volunteers to serve on several county boards.
Applicants for the non-paying positions must be residents of the county and registered voters.
The following positions are vacant or will become vacant after Dec. 31:
- Board of Construction and Regulation: One consumer position, one building contractor position, one architect/engineer position
- Environmentally Sensitive Lands Committee: One position for someone with experience or education in botany, engineering with knowledge of land development or land use, archeology, geology or hydrology, biology, realty, ecology, forestry/land management or a related natural science
- Fine Arts Council: Six positions
- Library Advisory Council: Two positions
- Tourist Development Council: One representative involved in tourism not collecting the Tourist Tax

Applications must be returned to the County Administrator's Office by 5 p.m. Dec. 19.
