Two people were hospitalized after an ammonia line burst in an Auburndale business.

Officials said the leak happened at 10:17 a.m. at Commercial Carrier, located at 420 Progress Road.

According to reports, the ammonia line burst in the plant, releasing about 100 pounds of ammonia in the building. The building was evacuated.

Three employees who had been exposed to the leak were rescued. Two of those employees were taken to the hospital.

Officials said the leak was contained at about 2:30 p.m. and that the leak is dissipating. Firefighters are continuing to monitor ammonia levels before allowing employees to re-enter the build.
