A 41-year-old man was killed early Thursday in a motorcycle crash in St. Petersburg.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Wesley T. Filson, of St. Petersburg, was killed when his 2008 Harley-Davidson failed to negotiate a right-hand curve on the Roosevelt Boulevard entrance ramp to southbound Interstate 275.

Troopers said Filson lost control of his motorcycle, traveled onto a grass median and crashed as he tried to overcorrect.

Filson was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene as a result of his injuries, troopers said.

The crash is under investigation.
