Interested in learning more about how the city of Clearwater operates? An established program called Clearwater 101 promises hands-on experience in city government operations.

Elected officials, department directors and other city staff lead the sessions, which will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings beginning Sept. 9.

The first Clearwater 101 Citizens Leadership Academy was held in 2002. Recognizing that residents are the city's most important assets, officials designed the program to educate citizens and help them become more actively involved in local government.
