State investigators have cleared a Plant City commissioner and the former police chief of any wrongdoing in connection to a sex scandal.
Commissioner Billy Keel asked for the investigation. He was accused of trying to influence an investigation into his friend, former Police Chief Steven Singletary.
The chief admitted to having an extra marital affair while on the job.
Singletary was fired. Commissioner Keel says the Florida Department of Law Enforcement found neither he nor Singletary did anything wrong though.
