There could be a deeper meaning to why some babies cry excessively.

Mothers with anxiety disorders before becoming pregnant can have babies that develop those same symptoms. The crying can last three or more hours every day.

Researchers say the study doesn't prove women's anxiety caused their babies to cry more, only that there was a link between the two.

Lifestyle changes can ease anxiety, depression

If you're dealing with anxiety and depression, a change in your diet could help.

Psychologists say watch your salt and sugar intake.

Decreasing the salt and sugar can help your brain and body work better. Also getting enough Vitamin D from going outdoors can help, too.

Exercise and meditation can also help.

Depression is a serious condition, but it can be treated.

New genes mapped for schizophrenia

A large study of schizophrenia patients revealed that the condition is driven by more than 100 genes. Some were expected and some will require more research to explain.

Researchers confirmed that genes connected to regulating the brain chemical dopamine are involved in schizophrenia. But so are genes involved in the immune system and several that associated with heavy smoking.

That doesn't mean schizophrenia is caused by inflammation or cigarettes. Genes may play one role in the immune system and another in the brain.

Scientists say drug companies may eventually be able to use the gene identification as targets for drug treatments.
