Bay area residents experienced another hot day Thursday, although there were fewer scattered showers and storms.

Scattered heavy thunderstorms in the Gulf moved onshore Pinellas County earlier this morning, causing localized flooding in some areas. A lightning strike injured a man at Sandy Key Park in Clearwater.

According to Bay News 9 meteorologist Diane Kacmarik, as the sea breeze organized, the storms shifted inland, and eventually to the east coast.

Storms redeveloped in the evening in Polk County.

"Storms will be possible late tonight and into the early morning back near the coast," said Kacmarik. "The onshore pattern continues."
