A Lakeland man was sentenced to 60 years in prison for shooting his business partner.

Prosecutors said last year Metro Theodore Butner, 76, walked into his shop, Gorilla Auto Sales on Havendale Boulevard in Winter Haven, and shot Aaron Aldrich in the head and lower back.

Aldrich survived the shooting.

Aldrich later told investigators that there had been “litigation issues between the partners,” a report said.

Butner was convicted in April of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm and shooting into a structure.
