Mike Moore is running as a Republican for the District 2 seat on the Pasco County Commission.

1. Why are you running for this office?

I believe Pasco County’s future is bright, but it will take leaders willing to put service above self to make that future a reality.

My wife Lauren and I love this county. Pasco County is where we have decided to build a business and raise our family. We want to see this county prosper not just for ourselves but for the entire community.

The voters of Pasco are looking for new leaders who will bring fresh ideas to the commission and look towards the future and not focus on the policies of the past that have not worked.

I will have an open door policy, will welcome input and feedback from residents and will base decisions on what's in the best interest of our community. I’m ready to help create a brighter future for Pasco County, our children, and future generations.

2. Why do you think you are the best qualified candidate for the office?

I have a fresh perspective and a focus on our future.

My wife and I have built a successful business and know what it takes to recruit and grow businesses here in Pasco County.  We need these new businesses and new jobs because when someone has a job they have the ability to provide for their family.

As a business owner I know that every dollar matters and I’m committed to making sure Pasco County spends taxpayer dollars wisely.

As a parent, I am committed to making sure Pasco County is safe and secure and that law enforcement has the tools they need to keep criminals off our streets and behind bars.

And, I am committed to ensuring Pasco County’s natural resources are protected, for our enjoyment and use and for the enjoyment and use of our children and grandchildren.

I’ve got a proven track record of serving our community and getting things done.  I’ll bring that same commitment to my service on the County Commission.

3. If you are elected, what will be your top priorities?

First, we need higher paying secure jobs in Pasco County. Not just jobs but careers.  For too long, many residents of our County have traveled every morning to their job somewhere else, only to make a long commute home in the evening.

In addition, some of our best and brightest do not come back to Pasco County after graduating from college because the jobs are not here.  By bringing secure, higher paying jobs to our community, we will have a strong economic foundation to grow and prosper, right here.

Second, I hear from the residents on a consistent basis is that they want to feel safe and secure. I will work diligently to make sure the sheriff’s department and fire rescue have the tools and resources necessary to make sure Pasco County is safe and secure.
