A man police said fled naked after being caught in bed with a 12-year-old girl has been arrested on one count of lewd and lascivious battery.
St. Petersburg Police had been searching for 46-year-old Edward Raynard Williams since August 8th.
Police said the girl’s grandmother walked into her granddaughter's room around 1 a.m. and discovered Williams under her bed covers. When the grandmother pulled back the covers, Williams jumped through the window, naked and ran off, police said.
Investigators believe Williams called the girl on the phone and arranged for her to let him in through her bedroom window.
Williams is an acquaintance of the family.
Police said Williams was cooperative at the time of his arrest, but made no statement to investigators.
