A man was arrested on Friday after deputies said he shot and killed a man at a downtown Tampa nightclub.

Edgardo Molina, 27, was located and taken into custody after a warrant for second-degree murder was issued for his arrest.

According to police, shortly before 2 a.m. on Thursday, witnesses flagged down a nearby Tampa Police patrol unit and told the officer that a man was shot.

When officers arrived on the 900 block of East Whiting Street, they found a man, later identified as 23-year-old Terence Wilson, fatally wounded in the parking lot.

Based on an investigation, detectives said Molina was kicked out of the club for fighting with Wilson. Deputies said Molina confronted Wilson outside of the club, and when Wilson started to run, Molina shot him.

Wilson died at the scene.
