A Tampa man who was shot Sunday died from his injuries after he was removed from life support, police said.

As a result, Tampa police are now investigating the death of Jaime Parchmon, 30, as a homicide.

Parchmon was standing outside an apartment building near 2210 E. Lake Ave. shortly after midnight when he was shot in the upper body.

Officials said Parchmon was with his friends when they heard shots fired from a nearby area.

Parchmon was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, and taken off life support on Wednesday, police said.

Police are now looking for suspects in Parchmon's shooting.
