A 30-year-old woman was killed late Thursday in Riverview when her car was struck by another vehicle as she attempted to make a U-turn.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Asia I. Robinson of Riverview was driving her 2008 Audi westbound on Progress Boulevard at 10:14 p.m. near the Tranquility Lake Apartments when she stopped at a median and turned back to go east.
The driver of a 1994 Chevrolet SUV, Bryan S. Weidman, 18, was west bound on Progress Boulevard and hit the brakes and swerved to try to avoid the Audi. The Chevrolet struck the driver's side of the Audi.
Robinson was taken to Tampa General Hospital where she died a short time later. Two passengers in her car, including a one-month old child, were not injured.
Weidman was not injured.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
