The Florida Highway is hoping a video leads them to the driver who hit a Pasco County teenager this week and took off.

Michael Eberl, 18, was found with life-threatening injuries in the grass along Mile Stretch Drive, near Ranchita Trail, in Holiday early Thursday.

Troopers say Eberl suffered injuries to his head and face and a cut on his left hand. He was hospitalized in critical condition.

The surveillance video shows the vehicle investigators believe was involved in the crash.

“My baby is laying in a hospital bed right now,” said Michael’s mother, Veronica Scott.

Michael layed in a ditch for nearly 40 minutes before a woman walking by saw him and dialed 911.

The impact left the recent Anclote High School graduate with several skull fractures, putting his Army plans on hold.

“He was very dedicated to getting in the Army and succeeding -- that’s what he wanted to do and that’s what he focused on, “said Michael’s father, Nathan Ruhanen.

Nathan and Veronica want the person that did this to their son to turn himself in.

“We want justice done ... whoever did this we are going to find you,” said Veronica Scott.
