Hillsborough County officials will hold a public meeting Monday night to provide Manors of Crystal Lakes residents with information about upcoming changes to their water service.

The neighborhood will be connected to Hillsborough County's water distribution system later this year, and that water will be treated with chloramines rather than chlorine. Kidney dialysis patients and aquarium owners will be advised to take special precautions.

The Manors of Crystal Lakes subdivision is located in Lutz, west of U.S. 41 near Sunset Lane. Residents are Hillsborough County water customers and receive drinking water from two wells. Earlier this year, a $5.4 million project began constructing a new water pipeline from the existing Hillsborough County distribution system to the subdivision.

Staff from the Public Utilities Department will be at the meeting to provide a brief presentation about the new water source and answer questions from residents.

The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Lutz Civic Center, 98 1st Ave. NW.
