Bay area residents can expect a much drier day Thursday.

Yesterday's showers and storms brought heavy rain and some flooding in multiple Bay area communities.

According to Juli Marquez, conditions will be different today with much less moisture in the area.

"Drier air is moving into our region now," Marquez said. "There will be more sunshine today with fewer scattered showers and storms."

Rain chances are 30 percent with high temperatures approaching 90 degrees.

Higher rain chances return on Friday as deep moisture in the atmosphere moves back into the Bay area.

Meanwhile, Hurricane Edouard is weakening in the north central Atlantic.

The storm has weakened to a Category 1 storm, with 85 mph winds, as of Thursday morning. The hurricane remains over a 1,000 miles east-northeast of Bermuda and does not pose a threat to land.
