A 70-year-old man from Cocoa Beach was killed Wednesday in a crash in Plant City.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Armin G. Wolle died after a four-car crash on Interstate 4 just before 12:30 p.m. Troopers said the crash happened in the eastbound lanes near mile marker 21.

The driver of a Chevy SUV failed to slow in time, starting a chain reaction crash, according to troopers. The Chevy SUV crashed into the back of a Chrysler van, which then hit the back right of a Chevy van. The Chevy van was pushed forward, where it collided with a Toyota sedan.

Wolle, one of four passengers in the Chrysler van, died at Southern Baptist Hospital.

The other three passengers suffered minor injuries.

All of the four people in the Chevy SUV, driven by 26-year-old Danielle Massa of New Jersey, suffered minor injuries. No one in the other two vehicles were hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
