In the market to buy some equipment from a retired nuclear plant?

Everything from nuts and bolts to generators and more are being auctioned off in Citrus County.

Things move fast at an auction like this. There are plenty of deals to be had, but you have to focus because the auctioneer doesn't skip a beat.

For the next few days, more than a million different items are being auctioned off from the retired Crystal River nuclear plant. Things like, electrical equipment, motors, pumps, welders and more all up for grabs.

Albert Radford knows how to handle an auction like this and he's on the hunt to score some great deals.

"We definitely got great deals, not good deals, great deals," he said.

The list of tools and equipment is 173 pages long. Heather Danenhower is with Duke Energy. She said whatever they make off the public auction will benefit their customers.

"Anything we receive as a result of our auction will go back to those customers, reducing future billing associated with the retired nuclear plant," she said.

The auction is also live on the internet so people are bidding from all around the world. It's being held at the Plantation on Crystal River and runs through Friday.

Danenhower said the equipment up for auction is clean because it never came into contact with plant systems or components that become radioactive during the electricity making process.
