A Largo man was killed on the job Tuesday at Tampa Steel Erecting Company.

The family of 34-year-old Adam Ferlanie said he was electrocuted while working and left overnight before he was found.

Adam and his wife Monique were just married in April. When they met in 2008, she said it was love at first sight.

"He always told me when he first saw me I was like an angel,” said Monique. “I had an aura around me."

Already father to three young sons, a pregnant Monique said her husband was eager for their 4th child, a baby girl due in January.

Monique said Adam took a job as a welder at the steel company just three months ago, to better provide for his family. They were even in the process of moving to Riverview this week, just so Adam could be closer to work.  Monique was packing Tuesday evening when Adam didn’t return home from his shift.

"I had just a bad feeling in my gut,” she said. “Something wasn't right."

Monique contacted the Hillsborough County Sherrif’s Office and a deputy met her and Adam’s parents and brother outside the steel company, where Adam’s car was still parked.  Monique said they had to wait until about 5:30 the next morning for a manager to arrive and let them all in.  Adam’s brother Tim discovered his body in an enclosed work space a short while later.

Adam’s mother Wendy said the thought of Adam being there alone overnight breaks her heart.

"The biggest thing is how my son was left there,” Wendy Ferlanie said.  “He’s my son. He’s my baby."

Now, Monique is left without the love of her life and the sole provider of her family.

The Ferlanie family is accepting donations to help them out during this tough time.
