Upper Manatee River Road has been closed in Manatee County because of high water.

Heavy rain in recent days has led to some flooding, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said. Authorities said the release of water at the Lake Manatee Dam, typically done when the lake reaches a certain level, has not caused the flooding.

A low-lying portion of Upper Manatee River Road just west of Rye Road was under water Sunday.

Dam officials said they will continue to release water for the next four days to lower the Manatee Lake water levels.

High water signs were posted and barricades were put into place. Woodstock Road was experiencing flooding Sunday morning.
