A Pasco High School student was arrested Monday for battery on a school official as well as resisting arrest with violence.

According to the Pasco Sheriff's Office, the 16-year-old student was on campus and in class when two students approached the School Resource Officer and told him they personally heard the defendant talking to other students about selling "molly" on campus.

An administrator took him out of class and told the student they were going to search him. Deputies said the student began yelling they were not going to search him and pushed the administrator against a concrete wall.

The administrator tried to stop the student, who turned and forcibly shoved him again into the wall, deputies said. The student then ran off.

A deputy arrived and chased the student, who volunteered to be arrested. However, while the deputy tried to handcuff the student he tensed up and pulled away, the report said.

The deputy tried to force the student to the ground to gain control and secure the cuffs. Deputies said the student twisted and pulled until the deputy fell to the ground and the student took off with one handcuff on.

The deputy eventually caught the student and transported him for booking. Deputies said the student made spontaneous statements that he "did not do anything wrong, so why am I framing him."

Bay News 9 is not naming the student as it is not known whether he will be charged as an adult.
