Polk County Commissioners are looking for volunteers to serve on the newly established Polk County Sidewalk Advisory Committee.
The 12-member committee will help commissioners determine the locations for new sidewalk replacement throughout the county.
Five members of the committee will be appointed by the Board, with each board member appointing one member. Five members will be county staff selected by the county manager. One member will represent the Polk County School Board and the final member will be a staff member of the Polk Transportation Planning Organization.
Terms for members of the Sidewalk Advisory Committee will be for three years, with members eligible to be re-appointed for one additional term. Members appointed by a commissioner must be approved by the board before serving.
