Defense attorneys could wrap up their case today in the Matthew Buendia attempted murder trial.

Buendia, an Iraq War veteran, is accused of shooting a Hillsborough deputy.

A pharmacologist took the stand on Monday. He listed 13 drugs that were prescribed to Buendia prior to the shooting.

The medications are typically prescribed for ailments like pain, panic attacks, depression, and skin conditions.

But the doctor told prosecutors it's unclear whether Buendia had taken any of the pills he was prescribed that day.

Oxycodone and marijuana were found in Buendia's system. Those drugs were not prescribed.

He had been drinking that night as well. If convicted, Buendia could spend the rest of his life in prison.
