Kate was briefly a hurricane before it weakened into a tropical storm.

It is no threat to Florida or any other parts of the United States.

There are no watches and warnings in effect but swells from Kate will affect Bermuda today.

A combination of increasing shear and cooler waters should prevent any additional intensification. Kate is forecast to lose tropical characteristics by Thursday.
