Authorities have arrested their primary suspect in the murder of a Brandon woman outside her home on Halloween night.

Darryl Eugene Williams, 49, was charged Tuesday night with first degree murder in the shooting death of Tiffany C. James, 35.

Detectives say that around 11 p.m. on Halloween night, Williams approached James as she was returning from a party. She made it to the front entrance of a neighboring apartment.

According to authorities, Williams didn't say anything before shooting James in the chest twice in front of their twin 7-year-old daughters.

Williams fled the scene, and James died later at Tampa General Hospital.

A warrant was issued for Williams' arrest. Tuesday night, deputies arrested him without incident at his place of employment in Riverview.
