Red tide continues to be a problem off the beaches of Manatee County.

The algal bloom's presence has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a beach hazards statement for the county and the Charlotte County bay regions through Wednesday evening, according to the Bradenton Herald.

Experts are warning beachgoers to be careful. Those affected by red tide may experience coughing, sneezing and watery eyes. The bloom has already killed numerous fish.

According to the FWC, red tide algae was detected Nov. 20 in medium concentrations offshore of the Rod & Reel Pier in the city of Anna Maria. A new red tide status report is due Wednesday.
