Efforts to extend Ridge Road are again underway.
Pasco County will resubmit its application to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers next month, according to the Tampa Tribune.
The county has been trying for 14 years to get approval to extend the road from Moon Lake Road by eight miles to the Suncoast Parkway and, eventually, U.S. 41. The county has budgeted $46 million to build the first segment every year since 2006.
The road would provide another west-west hurricane evacuation route.
