A precautionary boil water notice has been issued for residents around Mixon Fruit Farm.

The exact area affected is between 26th Avenue E to 29th Avenue E from 27th Street E to the 3200 block, including Mixon Fruit Farm.

The replacement of a water valve is scheduled for Monday, and water service will be shut off from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Manatee County Public Utilities officials are advising residents that once service is restored, all water used for drinking or cooking should be boiled as a precaution. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient.

This precautionary notice will remain in effect until testing shows the water is safe, which normally happens within 24 to 48 hours. Another notice will be issued at that time.
