Tampa pride was back in full force Saturday in Ybor City.

For the first time in 14 years, Tampa hosted a huge parade in honor of gay pride.

Thousands attended the parade, which filled the streets of Ybor City with colorful floats, beads, music and entertainment.

"It’s good to have it in our own city versus having to go to Orlando or St. Pete," said Arsenio Roberts, a parade attendee. "I don’t know, experience it like you said it hasn’t been here for such a long time. It’s just a really good feeling."

Tampa Police Chief Jane Castor was the co-grand marshal of the parade.

There was even a location along the parade route staffed with a notary public ready to marry any couple who walked up with a marriage license.

Tampa pride organizers were able to host the event largely through private donations.
