The Seminole 8 Touchstar Cinema that has operated for decades next to Seminole Mall will never show another movie.

The theater at 80th Avenue east of 113th Street was shut down recently and will be demolished starting next week.

All of Seminole mall is being razed to make room for the Seminole City Center, a new outdoor complex. Plans call for the new complex to include stores, restaurants, a modern cinema complex and a fitness center.

The next step after the movie theater is torn down will be the demolition of the portion of the mall that last housed a K-Mart store.

Bealls and Stein Mart, which operate successful stores at the mall, will be part of the new center.
