Some mysterious street art has been appearing in downtown Tarpon Springs.

Decorated bicycles are showing up throughout the downtown district. Sarah Haggman, who works at Court of Two Sisters, says the bicycles started appearing a few weeks ago.

“All of the sudden, one day we saw a bicycle covered in silk flowers," she said. "It was really beautiful and attached to a pole across the street.”

Now about 10 of them are on display. One is decorated in sponges and shells, another is bumblebee-themed, and there's even one dressed up in computer parts.

The only question is, whose behind the traffic-stopping street art?

“Is it fun to have a little mystery in town?  It is, it is!" said shopper Ron Cioffi. "We have said, 'What is this?' and 'What are these things?' ”

It didn't take long to track down the mystery artist. His name is Warren Gregory, and he says the bikes are inspired by the several years he spent living overseas in Amsterdam.

“You’ll see people put boas, flowers, feathers and it’s kind of an anti-thief thing," he said.

But in Tarpon Springs, Gregory says he made it about art.

“Every bike has at least 100 lights on it," he said.

So far, the response has been nothing but positive.

“The biggest thing I ever get is when people say I’ve made their day," he said.

Gregory says he has another five bikes already decorated, just in time for the Tarpon Springs Fine Art Festival this weekend.
