Detectives have issued a warrant for the arrest of a man accused of shooting another man last weekend in Tampa.

Gary D. Williams, 40, is wanted on a first-degree murder warrant in the death of Robert Smith. Smith, 43, was found lying near his apartment in the 1500 block of 138th Avenue. He had been shot one time.

Officials say Williams should be considered armed and dangerous and that he may be in possession of a firearm. Williams is described as a black man who is 6'1" and weighs 185 pounds. He has a short, faded afro, a long goatee and brown eyes.
